Halloween Seru di Universal Studios

Halloween Date kali ini sedikit berbeda. Biasanya kita menghabiskan pesta kostum di mall, ikutan trick or treat dan membawa pulang sekeranjang permen. Namun kemarin kita merayakan Halloween lebih awal dengan berkunjung ke dunia lain di Halloween Horror Nights 6, Universal Studio Singapore. Tanpa kostum, tanpa permen, hanya bermodal nekat. Jadi judul posting in harusnya "Halloween terseram di Singapura".

Soalnya rumah hantunya seram banget dan memang sudah dianjurkan tidak bawa anak kecil. Dudu juga takut sampai menangis. Sepupu saya (yang kemarin ikut ke Arts Science Museum juga) sama takutnya. Tapi namanya sudah beli tiket (early bird pula), bahkan sudah sampai bertolak ke negara tetangga demi acara ini, ya masa kita tidak masuk? Hahaha. 

Saat matahari tenggelam, Universal Studios Singapore berubah dari theme park untuk keluarga yang penuh keceriaan menjadi sebuah tempat berhantu yang mengerikan. Semuanya total, dari lighting, kostum dan rumah hantu yang dibangun membuat kita merasa memasuki taman bermain yang berbeda. Dan entah bagaimana, saya lebih suka Universal Studios versi horror ini. Karena lebih seru, lebih sepi (walaupun mau masuk rumah hantu harus antri 30 menit) dan lebih hidup. 

Kpop vs Zombie: Sebuah Cerita Toleransi

We agree to disagree. Mama dan Dudu tidak selalu kompak dalam segala hal. Salah satunya adalah masalah idola. Dudu yang fanatik zombie dan Mama yang ngefans Kpop sering tidak menemukan titik tengah. Jadi? Ya kita belajar toleransi. Setidaknya boyband Kpop kesukaan saya itu ada kesamaannya dengan zombie. Selain jumlahnya yang banyak dan gerakan yang sinkron, sekali terinfeksi biasanya kita tidak bisa kembali lagi jadi normal.

Coba bayangkan kalau suatu hari, anak Anda mendadak cerita begini,
Dudu: Tadi di the Walking Dead, Rick menembak zombie terus kepalanya hancur.
Mama: Hiyyyyy... jijik.
Dudu: Tidak jijik Ma. Kan itu sudah jadi zombie.

Halloween this year is full of spontaneous creativity. Signed up accidentally by submitting last year's zombie picture to Debenhams's instagram, we were invited to attend the department store's Halloween parade on October 26.

Then the real problem began when we have no idea for costume. Zombie seems so last year and Mama is too lazy to create a blood mixture. So, stopping by a kids toy store we found a reversible, green-and-black cape. From the cape, we found a stick... then the face tattoo from "Day of the Dead". Then Dudu decided he wanted to be Death.

But he was too handsome. So, our version should be scary. Especially when the Invitation said so.

A little back on the eyes, a little tattoo here and there, plus a black nail polish. And voila, Andrew goes scary. Our spontaneity costs us around Rp250k (Rp150k for the cape, Rp 70k for the stick and the rest is for the tattoo - Mama's eyeshadow and nail polish don't count). It took us around one hour to get ready. It could be faster if I knew how to apply the temporary tattoo.

But what makes us happy is the event. It was way beyond out expectation. First he went line up for a fashion show, and then he went around Debenhams for trick or treating. The employee on the floor came out, dressing up as pretty witches. It was like real Halloween. We didn't win in the end, but it doesn't matter. Dudu got picked as one of the favorites, and what's in the goody bag are a huge surprise for us.
